Lin had prayer answered after first Knicks-Heat matchup

Copy from: New York Post

MIAMI — This was 27 days ago, early on a Friday evening, maybe two hours before the Knicks played the Heat for the first time in 2012. Inside the chapel at American Airlines Arena, just down a hallway from the dressing rooms, a handful of supplicants had gathered to seek solace.
Udonis Haslem, a Heat forward and a regular at these 20-minute assemblies, noticed a quiet presence in the room that day, quickly figured it to be Jeremy Lin, a roster filler for the Knicks. He returned to his personal vigil. The chaplain said a few words, a few prayers, then asked around the room if anybody had any special intentions.

LG Optimus Vu Vs Samsung Galaxy Note; a comparison

The war for big screen smart phones has begun. LG Optimus Vu Vs Samsung Galaxy Note is going to be a tough fight in the days to come. LG has moved to the 5-inch phone market following its chief rival Samsung. The Korean tech maker has shown off Optimus Vu in a sort of challenge to Samsung’s Galaxy Note just ahead of the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona. Going through the available specs and features of Vu, it looks that the device will pose threat to the Note, which has been there for sometimes. Well, the arrival of Vu further reinforces the claim that the much-hyped ‘phoneblet’ market is flourishing. Here, we compare the Vu and Note based on the details LG has made available.
Display screen
Unlike the Galaxy Note’s 5.3-inch display, the Optimus Vu is set to come with a slightly smaller 5-inch screen. The device is to feature a 5-inch LCD 1024×768 screen with a 4×3 aspect ratio. It will be protected by Gorilla Glass covering from scratches. The Note, at the same time, mounts a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a better resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 285. The multitouch display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass layering.

Taiwan Festivals and Events

Festivals and special events are a part and parcel of everyday lives and every country has its own set of festivals to break free from the mundane world and add some spice to their lives. It doesn't come as a big surprise that the country of Taiwan has it own set of events and festivals which they commemorate with big fervor. The festivals and events in the country of Taiwan can be divided into two major categories where the festivals are associated with the traditional lunar calendar whereas the holidays are in synchronization with the Western calendar. The lunar festivals can be attributed to the country's lineage with China which gives an opportunity to the people to relieve their past and revive the bondage with a country with which they shared some common cultural traits. These lunar festivals also have a mythical importance and all hold a special significance in the lives of the ordinary Taiwanese. The official commemorative days which are based on the western calendar are usually there to celebrate the achievements of those people who have left a mark in the history of the nation. Some days are usually marked to remind the ordinary citizens about the important landmarks of history and the importance they have in the growth and development of Taiwan.

JuMing Museum

JuMing museum is the best museum that I loved in Taiwan. It will prove worthwhile to visit Juming Meseum for you. So I share some information from the website to everyone.
Ju Ming at the time he was creating the Taichi Series
Ju Ming’s art cutivated from Taiwan but because of his unique spirit and character, his works are internationally admired. In order to find a place to store his various-sized works, some years ago Ju Ming started buying up land around Chinshan mountain area in northern Taiwan. As his property expanded, Ju Ming started contemplating the building of an arts centre. From 1987, he began to prepare for the construction of a museum in Chinshan, and he achieved this goal step by step. He built the museum from scratch, witnessing a wasteland become a large-scale sculpture park. He took part in the whole process of constructing the museum, from organization to supervising of the building and architectural design. In 1999 this museum that ate up all of Ju Ming’s savings and took 12 years of effort was finally ready to be opened to the public. It became his largest work, and is also his way repay and make tribute to society and the artistic and educational arenas.

Bangladesh as the Ultimate Outsourcing Destination.

Many people indicate the low cost to be the main factor, why Bangladesh is going to be the Ultimate Outsourcing Destination for the decade; I seriously argue here. Did I say Bangladesh is going to be the Ultimate Outsourcing Destination? Yes, I did, there is nearly no doubt about it.
The low cost of labor and living are surely blessings for Bangladesh. However, it is unwise to think that someone investing thousands of dollars for a solution, would risk it for few hundreds. Here comes about the ability to develop world class solutions. Yes, the skills of Bangladeshi developers are world class. They are competing in all sorts of contests with great remarks.
More importantly the talents are very sincere and manageable. The dedication of Bangladeshi talents is generally unparallel. They are mild in nature, hardworking, considering and on top of it very passionate to represent their country. They love their country and they are passionate about their work – this is the greatest value among them. This has given them an edge over their competitors.

Emotional Mapping of Museum Augmented Places

The format EMMAP (Emotional Mapping of Museum Augmented Places) is devoted to promote mobile and ubiquitous learning environments in museums or in other places of historic-cultural interest. It has been experimented in two different museums and in the urban streets. The participants to the trials were 115 pupils attending Secondary school, 10 students of the Academy of Fine Arts and a group of 20 adults. The Secondary schools students visited the Archaeological Museum of San Severino Marche, the Academy of Fine Arts learners visited the Macerata Carriage Museum and the 20 adults participated to a walk all around Macerata urban walls to visit “Street Poetry”, an exhibition in augmented reality.

A comparative study on China before and after 1978, in terms of their trade and economic institutions

Project Brazil: Next China?

Brazil in the year 2012 and beyond as the prototypical China.
It is not difficult to see why Brazil has so much potential that has been explored and exploited by the major powers in past history continuing into modern times. China has already met and exceeded expectations which shocked the world. The similarities between the two behemoths of a country lend to dissertations of optimism for Brazil, but, simultaneously, tell cautionary tales that might not even manifest. Ultimately, the differences will yield the most insight on whether or not Brazil could duplicate China’s success.
Similarities: Brazil vs. China. The similarities between Brazil and China are striking and all contribute to the reasons for all of the hype behind Brazil's destiny to match China's success. For instance, both countries have a large and growing middle class, protected domestic banks from the 2008 Financial Crisis, proved to be somewhat immune to global recession, and concerned with the weakening US dollar which affect exports. The geographic areas of the two countries are very similar with Brazil’s geographic area ranking 5th and China’s geographic area ranking 3rd/4th in the world. The population of Brazil ranks a distant 5th when compared to China’s dominates position as the country with the largest population in the world. Though, the GDP difference is quite large at $9.144 trillion dollars, the GDP per capital of Brazil actually exceeds China by $3,373 due to population differences.

Interview Summaries with Angel Investment Players

Angel Investing is a topic that has not received much academic attention due to the tendency of scholars to investigate venture capitalist topics because of the individuality and privacy of the angel investments. The precise reasons for these predilections are unknown, but the spirit of Angel Investing has certainly captivated our passions in the past few months. The following are interview summaries conducted for this article:
David Dupouy was born in Paris, France, and began computer programming at the tender age of 10. By age 20, he made a big decision to move from France to the Silicon Valley to start his first company, Sensiva, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, USA. Having no connections, no working visa, he bootstrapped Sensiva by selling a non-exclusive license. A few years later a U.S. patent was granted and he had a few employees hired. That was when investors got interested in his company and after some negotiations, five angel investors jumped on board.
Following the success of his first company, he finally settled in Taipei, Taiwan and began various entrepreneurial projects. In particular, he has been involved with The Founder Squad, which is an entrepreneur support group that features an invite-only membership.
