Taiwanese vs American Culture

Differences
-- Girls in Taiwan are more shy and introverted than their western counterparts, but they are more feminine, tender and caring toward their family and partners as well.
-- Lighter skin is seen as more attractive in Asia. But in America, having a slight tan is seen as healthier and more attractive than being too pale.
-- Taiwanese are taught to be modest, humble and obedient, rather than outspoken, aggressive or assertive.
--  On the exterior, Taiwanese people are more reserved and cold toward strangers. They are less apt to smile or make eye contact. But once you get to know them, they become more hospitable and generous. Americans smile and chat politely with strangers easily, but do not invite you into their homes or personal lives easily.
-- Being sensitive to another person’s needs is very important in Chinese culture.  It is expected that you will respect the other person and treat them well.  Their needs are met at each encounter.  This is a characteristic that unfortunately has fallen on the wayside in most American circles.

Why is fertility rate important?

Fertility rate is, basically, the number of children that the average woman will have in her lifetime.
If the average woman has exactly two children in her lifetime, this is just enough to replace herself and one man, and thus maintain the population.

Differences Between American and Asian style movie

There are large cultural differences in american and chinese film. for example, the concept of face which is VERY important in asian culture is almost always present in Chinese movies, and things which are said outright in american film are often supposed to be understood in Chinese film.

the portrayal of women is different. despite the fact that communism was supposed to bring equality of men and women to China there are still deeply ingrained gender stereotypes that are present in Chinese films. This is true in american film as well, but less so.

Family is often a much more fundamental part of life in China than it is in America therefore it often represents a much bigger part of chinese films. Though this is less true now, a lot of Chinese films seem, well corny to western viewers, the acting seems hammish.
When i watch some horror movie, i found the difference between hollywood-style and asian-style horror film.

in asian style,
it's containing a white-scary-ghost called 'kuntilanak' or something.
the ghost always shows up SUDDENLY.
and it's only appear in a short duration.
the ending is 'odd' for me.

in hollywood style,
maybe it's only about murderer, psychophat with uncanny behaviour.
many violence with blood.
When i watch some romantic movie, i found the difference between hollywood-style and asian-style romantic film.

In Asian style,

it's containing a sing or dance without any reason.
the love screen shows up SUDDENLY.
and it's only appear in a short duration.
the ending is 'funny' for me.

In hollywood style,
maybe it's only about high technology, psychophat with uncanny behaviour (Kiss, Sex).
many intelligence with smart activity.

I like very much science fiction movie that i share with you. Enjoy!
I also like one of Asian movie that I like to share, Enjoy!

Marriage Cultural Among US, Chinese and India.

Wedding Traditions in USA

The United States has few wedding traditions that are totally unique to the U.S.  Virtually all U.S. wedding traditions and customs have either been taken directly from a wide range of other countries and cultures – primarily European – or they have evolved from traditions in other nations.
There are a few things that all U.S. weddings have in common.  To begin with, U.S. wedding ceremonies may be either religious or civil.  Most brides prefer a large and rather elaborate ceremony if it is their first wedding
Marriages are not “arranged.”  A typical U.S. wedding takes place between two people who have sought out a partner and have found someone whom they believe they can share their life with.  In other words, in the United States marriages are based on LOVE.  They are not arranged to strengthen family business or influence.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, it is traditional for the official to ask if anyone present knows of any just cause why this man and this woman may not be legally married.  Getting no response, the official asks the couple to exchange wedding rings, a symbol of their never-ending love and commitment to one another, and then the happy couple is pronounced, in front of family and friends (witnesses) to be husband and wife.
Gifts are an important part of the U.S. wedding tradition.  Gifts are given to help the new couple establish a new home together; often gifts of cash are given.  A couple may “register” at a specific store where their gift needs are tracked.  This allows well-wishers to not only purchase gifts that are truly useful to the new couple, but to also be assured that no one else has purchased the same gift.
Following the reception the couple traditionally goes on a honeymoon, during which their marriage is consummated.
U.S. wedding ceremonies and wedding customs are among the most flexible in all the world.
                 Wedding Traditions in India
Four Day Wedding Ritual of Indians
Traditional Indian marriage celebrations lasts for four days.
First Day of the Celebration
On the first day, the bride and groom's families each dress in yellow, and celebrate the upcoming nuptials separately.
Second Day of the Celebration
The second day is reserved for a big celebration called Mendi that includes dancing and singing ancient songs. On this day, the groom's family delivers the wedding dress to the bride's family, and then her family takes the groom's wedding attire to his family.
