If you're a big fan of action movies, The Raid: Redemption 全面突襲 quánmiàn túxí will premiere next week on April 20, 2012 in Taiwan. It's an Indonesia movie about a SWAT team raiding a 30-story apartment full of dangerous criminals in the heart of Jakarta's slum area. Judging from the trailer, it's no movie for the faint-hearted. It will be 101 minutes full of actions, close combats, and gun fights. Be prepared to see brutality and blood.
The movie was a collaboration between Gareth Evans, a Welsh film director based in Indonesia, and Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian, Indonesian martial artists (pencak silat) as the fight choreographers . It received rave reviews after the screening in film festivals such as Sundance Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, and Moma ND/NF Film Festival. It was hailed as "The best action movie in decades, 十年來最佳動作爽片" .
